Health up north is a bimonthly staff newsletter for Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (HHS) with (at the time) 190 issues in circulation.
In efforts to help develop a positive culture for the staff I was asked to give the newsletter a re-vamp to make it more visually appealing and increase the readership.
After some discussion we decided to turn the newsletter into a 'magazine' style adding a cover, and article layouts.
After a couple of editions with positive feedback, we were able to facilitate a small print run, so that the magazine could be distributed in staff rooms and waiting rooms in the various facilities of the region. This has helped dramatically in increasing readership and positive feedback of the new look and direction the magazine has taken
